Why get a cooling system service?

With today's new computer controlled engines the coolant temperature is most important. The temperature sensor tells the computer how to adjust the fuel mixture and ignition timing.

Antifreeze protects the metal and lubricates the moving parts in the cooling system. As it ages, antifreeze becomes contaminated and gradually loses its cooling and lubricating capacity. And the pH level changes, eventually attacking the metal in the system instead of protecting it.
